The Extraordinary Stories: Alberto Martini and Edgar Allan Poe
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Alberto Martini’s death, the city of Oderzo will host the exhibition ‘The Extraordinary Stories. Alberto Martini and Edgar Allan Poe’, which will be held from 27 September 2024 to 25 March 2025 at Palazzo Foscolo. The exhibition, promoted by the Fondazione Oderzo Cultura, will present over 120 works by the artist, including illustrations of Edgar Allan Poe’s stories, highlighting his dreamlike world and the ‘dark side’ of his art.
The exhibition will offer a total immersion in Martini’s poetics, with previously unseen loans and never-before-exhibited works, including drawings, engravings and pastels. A unique opportunity to explore the extraordinary fusion between Martini’s visions and those of Poe, paying homage to one of the great protagonists of the European avant-garde.
